The CNA Registry For Michigan Nursing Assistants
Getting in the Michigan CNA Registry will allow you to work as a nurse aide anywhere throughout the state, allowing you to take part in earning the median Michigan CNA salary which is at $28,000 per year and can range up to over $35,000 a year. License Renewal Through Michigan’s CNA Registry
The Registry requires that you renew your license every 2 years which they actually send you out a renewal from which you will have to fill out and send back in. This renewal form comes in the mail usually 2 to 4 months before your renewal date, which if it doesn’t come within that time you will need to contact them. In order to be eligible for renewal you will need to have atleast 8 hours of document work in the past 2 year timeframe, which was for pay. If the facility where you were employed has closed you can provide a pay stub to prove that you have worked the minimum amount of hours. If you happen to have not worked as a CNA in the last 2 years then complete a training course as well as pass the certification test again.
Continuing Education
Individuals also have to complete 13 hours of continuing educaiton which should address an area of the profession that one is weak in.
The 60 Hour Grace Period
If you happen to have no worked in the pas 2 years as a CNA, the CNA Registry allows you a 60 day grace period which begins after the 2 year renewal date, which you can go ahead and attain your 8 hours of demanded work eperience, which must be documented by sending the proof of employment to Prometric before the 60 days are over.
Transfering From Another State
If you happen to be a CNA in another state and are moving to the state of Michigan, you are able to work a total of 4 months before, which during that time you must apply for reporicity, in which your state must document that you have been in good standing with your employers in order to gain certification in Michigan. During that time you must also pass the competency evaluation.
