CNA training offered by a program called Michigan Works! Association which is an organization was established in the year of 1987 with the goal in mind of supporting Michigan’s Workforce Development. They are a revolutionary association as they are the first of it’s kind in the US, known as a “unified workforce development system”. There are a grand total of 25 different Michigan Works! Agencies, which is where your CNA training comes in as they often times provide partial or full funding for aspiring CNA’s that goes towards taking a certification course.
Their funding for the most part for CNA training through Michigan Works! comes from the No Worker Left Behind Program that was established in 2007 as a tuition program offering tuition money to eligible applicants in order to create “economic transformation”, which free CNA training has resulted for many individuals living in the state of Michigan. In order to find out if you qualify for Michigan Works certified nurse aide training, what you will want to do is visist or contact your nearest Michigan Works! agency locations and consult with one of their representitives who will provide you with information on what it takes to qualify as well as accredited CNA courses in your area. The main qualifications for No Worker Left Behind consists of:
- If one is unemployed or has recently been either laid off or has gotten a notice that they will be terminated from their job.
- Or a person who is employed but makes less than $40,000 annually.
Also all applicants need to be a minimum of 18 years old as well as have completed their high school education at least 2 years before applying in order to become eligible. Applicants who are between the ages of 18 to 23 cannot be enrolled in a college schedule that is full time.
